Joon-Yong Jung is a musculoskeletal radiologist at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and serves as a professor of radiology at The Catholic University of Korea in Seoul. He completed his medical degree at The Catholic University of Korea and later earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in medical science from the same institution.
From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Jung undertook his residency at St. Mary’s Hospital, encompassing both the Yeido and Kangnam branches. Following this, he committed three years to serving as an army doctor in Pusan and Seoul. In 2010, he embarked on a fellowship at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and, by 2012, had become a staff radiologist at the same facility.
A committed scholar, Dr. Jung has presented many papers at international conferences such as AMS, ISS, ISMRM, and RSNA. He has authored numerous research papers on hematologic diseases, bone and soft tissue tumors, and spine and joint diseases. At present, he is particularly focused on harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence in musculoskeletal radiology, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and prognostication.
In addition to his research endeavors, Dr. Jung also serves in the executive committees of the Korean Societies of Radiology (KSR), Musculoskeletal Radiology (KSMR), and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (KSMRM).
